Race for the Cure - Sunday in the Park with Kris & Dad

First, Kris and I would like to thank everyone who graciously sponsored us in the Race for the Cure. We appreciate your donations and this year it's extra special to me since I lost Ms. Doris in July to a long battle with cancer that started as breast cancer. But back to our day in Central Park...after a couple weeks of nothing but rain, we had a beautiful day for the 5K walk along with 25,000 other people. We met Kris' dad, Bob, at the park and after being held to a very slow pace for the first mile or so, we kicked it in gear for the last half of the walk and finished at the 1 hour 34 minute mark after starting 28 minutes after the Elite Runners...so, a little over an hour. After the race, we walked over to a great little restaurant called Cafe con Leche and had lunch before parting ways with Dad and heading back to New Jersey. Again, thanks to those who sponsored us and to Dad for coming out and walking with us. I can definitely see us doing it again next year.
